Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder, professionally Winona Ryder was born on Winona Minnesota. The name of her parents was derived from the town she grew up in. Her father Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder's father was from the Jewish family. Ryder considers herself Jewish. She has two younger half-siblings, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder moved with her family members to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. The family resided in an area without electric power. Ryder, who loved reading aged 12 years old, became a reader since Ryder had no access to television. When she turned 12 Ryder enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. Lucas was let go in 1986. Ryder, who was just 15 years old, was offered the role of a leading actor. Ryder faced bullying in high school. Her hope was that acting could bring change. However, the plan didn't pan out. But she continued to pursue her goal. Her breakthrough came in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in 1988. Ryder kept playing successful roles in a variety of films. She received nominations for two Academy Awards one for her role on The Age of Innocence (1993).
