Whitney Houston and Dana Bash
Whitney Elizabeth Houston was conceived into a musical family, 9 August 1993, in Newark New Jersey. Whitney is the cousin of daughter to the singing sensation Dionne. The singer began her singing career in the choir of her church The New Hope Baptist Church in Newark in the early years of her childhood and at fifteen, she was singing back vocals professionally with her mother on Chaka Khans 1978 hit Im Every Woman. She continued to offer the backing vocals of Jermaine and Lou Rawls as well as her own mother. She also did a brief stint as a model appearing on the cover of Seventeen magazine in the year 1981. Her singing with New York-based band Material attracted major record labels such as Arista. They signed her with Arista in 1983, where she spent the remainder of her career. Whitney Houston's debut Whitney Houston album was released in 1985. It would become one of the top-selling albums by an artist. Songs like The Most Beautiful Love of All, How Will I Know If You Give Good Love, and Save the Day and All My Love were all released from the album. The songs enabled Houston to earn seven US top tens that surpassed even the top tens of The Beatles. The album debuted in 1987 and sold 25 million copies across the globe. Whitney, her album Whitney, released in 1987 and featuring the smash tracks What Do Broken Hearts go? and I Wanna Dance With Somebody, was a follow-up to her success from. But it is The Bodyguard (1996) that cemented her position as the top selling album in music. The Bodyguard's performance as a film and soundtrack was not popular however, the Dolly Parton cover I Will Always Love You as well as the accompanying album topped charts across the world for several months. Also in 1993 when she got married Bobby Brown, an ex-New Edition artist who gave the sole child of her marriage, Bobbi Kristina Brown. Dana Bash is also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz and she is employed by CNN as a reporter, anchorwoman as well as a political correspondent.
